February marked a significant milestone in Samoa’s education system, with the opening of the new headquarters of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture in Malifa, Samoa.

 

With investment from around Asia and the Pacific, and 19 months of construction, this key building will house several divisions and specialists in the ministry.

 

Allegion was a key supplier to this landmark project, supplying internal and external door hardware and locks.

 

Key products to the project were the Legge 990 mortice lock, LCN door closers and Briton door closers.

 

LEGGE 990 Mortice Lock

The LCN 1460 series has been designed to be used on metal or timber swinging commercial interior/exterior doors and is ideally suited for hospitals, nursing homes, hostels, shopping centres, commercial buildings, hotels, educational and institutional applications.

 

 

Briton 222 Door Closer

The Briton 222 series is a non-handed, economical unit designed to be used on commercial interior/exterior wooden and metal doors i.e. high usage corridor, office, entrance and stairwell doors. The closer is an adjustable 2-5 strength closer to suit the most popular range of door sizes. Door closing is hydraulically controlled, with adjustable backcheck and regulators to give the desired closing speed. The 220 has a precision rack and pinion mechanism, and is easily mounted to the surface of the door or the top jamb.
